“Leave the e-mail, the commuting and the fax, come to a working farm, slow down and relax”

“What a joy it is to taste and see the delights of the lovely Shropshire countryside. The summer days are receding and autumn beckons, so it is good to be here in your beautiful home. Peace and quiet in abundance – treasures indeed. Thank you once again for your friendly hospitality during our stay. Breakfasts fit for a king”

Andrew and Althea welcome you into their home, a small, family run, working farm, set in the heart of the countryside on the Shropshire and Worcestershire borders. Andrew’s family have lived at Hardwicke since 1929. Andrew became the fourth generation to take over the family farm, which covers approximately 100 acres when he married Althea. Andrew is proud to continue to develop and improve the Hardwicke Texel Flock which his father started in 1978 and is the farm’s main enterprise. Althea came to Hardwicke in 1992, she is also from a farming background, her family being dairy farmers.
Together, along with their two children, Emily and Matthew, who help out when they can as they both have full-time jobs, they run Hardwicke Farm. They started to do bed and breakfast in 2000 as a way of diversifying, and have found it works well alongside the running of the farm, offering people a high standard of accommodation in a relaxed and comfortable environment.
